March 8, 2009 Turnout was
a little on the light side. Several members were at the NASCAR race at
Atlanta Motor Speedway. Those that showed up at AMW rode up Hwy 9 all
the way to Dahlonega. At the Smith House they were met by Darren, Kim
and Jacob (Darren and Jacob on the motorcycle).
After dinner most everyone headed back home. A few
riders took advantage of the riding weather and headed up GA 60 to
Suches, then accross GA 180. GA 180 was not in the best of conditions
for motorcycles. There must have been a very recent freeze as sand and
gravel were everywhere.....mainly in the turns....not good! Took a break
at Turners corner and watched sport bikes go speeding by. They headed
for home from there.
