November 08, 2009 Five of
us met at Atlanta Motor World and headed for the Dawsonvolle Pool Room
for some lunch. As we headed through Alphareta, Malon said turn left
then right and we will miss all this traffic. So we manuver the turns
and off we go through quiet neighborhoods away from all the cars. We
came out up GA9 way north of Alpharetta and then turned left on
Castleberry Road and worked our way through the edge of Cumming and on
out of town jumping back on GA9 to Dawsonville where we were to have
lunch.
We all had a good lunch of sandwiches and fresh french fries. Afterward
Tim & Diane headed back home to eat some of Diane's fresh fudge and
muffins. The rest of us wanted to ride somewhere. We got the map out and
decided to take GA53 to GA52 over to Blue Ridge. So we were off.
Except... GA183 jumped out in front of me and I turned right. OK all is
good. We can pick up GA 52 up ahead and still end up in Blue Ridge. BUT,
as you would have it, once again another sign went by and we turned left
on GA136 and started across the mountains. We had a great ride up
through this area and soon GA136 turned off north and here we go again
on a new adventure. As we blow by the GA136 turn off, we are headed up a
new road towards who knows where. Well, guess where we ended up? Jasper.
So now what do we do. We head for GA515 but wait, Malon knows another
way... Scenic route. Right up our alley today and off we go. We cut
through Jasper and on we go. Soon we ended up on GA108 where we split up
and some headed west toward their homes, the others of us east. Now if
you didn't know, GA108 drops you off on GA53 and back through the hills
toward where we started after lunch. We had great weather and great
riding. Thanks to all who attended and
I am already looking forward to the next ride. I love this time of year
and hope to see you on the next ride.
