Well, we fared a little better this time. It was still pretty cool in the morning when I rolled the bike out of the garage, but this time the forecasters did a little better. It did warm up as the day progressed. It was still a few degrees cooler than predicted but the sun was out and the sky was blue and that helped a lot.

Again, it was in the 40's when we left out of Atlanta Motor World. The turnout wasn't quite as good..five bikes and 10 riders, but for a cool morning in early March, it was pretty good.

Because it was pretty cool, we took a pretty direct route over to Oakwood. By the time we arrived, the temp was already up a few degrees. Standing in the sun after arriving felt pretty good. Upon arrival we had several members of the Stone Mountain chapter waiting on us. They had decided to ride up and have lunch with us. We ended up with a pretty good size group.

Service at Buffalo's was a little slow, but we were in no hurry. In fact it just gave us more time to talk with our fellow riders and guests. The food, once we finally got it, was good and warming.

Once everyone had eaten, it was time to head home. Even though it was warmer we knew the setting sun would bring a real drop in the temperature. Time had just changed to daylight savings time, so we did have that in our favor. A few people headed home and the rest of us took a ride back down toward Cumming and Buford Dam. We made a stop at a little park near the dam to check out the lake. With the recent rains it was up a couple feet, but still looks pretty bad. From there we headed back towards Stone Mountain, Jefferson and points in between.

It was another great day. It felt good to get out and ride and have the sun in you face. It may have been a little cool, but the warmer weather is on its way !! We have a lot coming up this year. Fibbers in Alabama is the 22nd. That will be our first real ride of the season. April brings a couple good rides as well as STAR doing demos at Atlanta Motor World. May is Andersonville. Please register if you haven't done so. It's the fifth year and we want it to be BIG !!
