July 13, 2008 The ride yesterday ended up
being wet.
We got to AMW and things were fine. Alan Sales called and said he was
not going to make it.
Alan said it was raining at his house.
So the rest of us saddled up and started for Warm Springs. As we
approached Marietta there was a rainbow up ahead.
Well, you know what a rainbow means… Rain.
Sure enough we kept on riding and it started. We pulled into a shopping
center and got on the rain suits.
Then back on the road. Malon and Georges neither one had a rain suit.
But they saddled up and went on down the road with us.
The sky darkened, the rain picked up and Georges decided to head
home. He lives out around Marietta.
The rest of us traveled on. Then it looked like it was going to break
loose. We turned into a Bank of America drive thru and hung out while it
rained.
We were supposed to meet Rick and Barbara Campbell at 278 & 61. I called
Rick and he was there waiting on us. I told him to sit tight and we
would be on the road after the current storm blew by.
I checked the radar on the cell phone and it showed a single band of
rain.
Trouble was it wasn’t going any where. Just hanging out with us.
Someone suggested breakfast. There was an IHOP in Hiram. The Rick
Cothran suggested the O’Charley's just two doors down from the IHOP.
The IHOP was packed out. We arrived at 10:10. O’Charley's opened for
brunch at 10:30. So here we were hanging out in the mist. Finally they
realized we were there and opened the door and let us into the waiting
area. Around 10:30 we got seated.
The lunch was good and afterward it was still raining and wet. Everyone
headed for the home.
It rained all the way home.
