Best ride of the year so far !!! It should be uphill from here. Although it was still a little cool in the morning leaving home, the promise was a warmer sunny day. This time they got it right !!

Leaving AMW we had a pretty good turnout and we picked up the Sales and the Howard's in Cartersville along the way. So we ended up with a really good turnout for our longest ride so far. By mid-morning, it had already warmed up a little bit and was very pleasant riding to Fibbers.

We arrived at Fibbers around noon Atlanta time, but we weren't in Atlanta, we were in Alabama and it was only 11am. Didn't matter, the restaurant was open, the food was on the buffet and out stomachs said "Time to Eat". So we did. The food was delicious as always and I'm pretty sure everyone got their fill. If they didn't, it was their own fault, because there was plenty on the buffet to eat.

After gorging ourselves we decided the weather was too nice to waste so most of us headed out for Little River Canyon. It wasn't a very long ride to the canyon and was well worth the trip. The weather was very nice, the ride very enjoyable and the canyon and fall beautiful. We spent some time enjoying the park and then decided to ride the ridge road which followed the canyon  for about 12 miles. There was some awesome scenery views looking down into the canyon. Sadly all of the overlook pull-offs were not conducive to motorcycle stops so we just slowed down, got a quick look and rolled on.

After the ridge road ride we headed over to DeSoto Falls. We had never been here and it was another worthy trip. Again, the ride wasn't too far, but with the sun still out, it was a very nice ride. DeSoto Falls is in a park with a lovely lake that cascades over a dam. The water then proceeds to flow over a short waterfall into a pool and from there down a large waterfall to another deep pool then trails off into the sunset via a river. It was beautiful.

Finally it was time to head home. It had been a fantastic day. We ate good food, rode good roads, had good weather, saw some awesome waterfalls and spent time with good friends. I guess it was all good. It really don't get a whole lot better than that.

The next ride it so Toccoa Falls in Toccoa GA. This is another fantastic waterfall. Last time I was there you could get pretty close to the falls and feel the spray from the falls. It is a fairly high fall and makes some great photos. Be there. It will be fun.
