August 23, 2008 Hurricane
Fay was making her rounds and when we left home the sky looked rather
ominous and there was a light mist in the air. We donned our rain
jackets but not the pants. By the time we reached AMW it had quit
misting but still looked grey.
Despite the weather we had a great turnout and when
time to leave rolled around, we mounted up and headed out. We had nine
bikes and 12 riders!
Doug led us on a great round about route from
Alpharetta to Dahlonega. It was a very nice ride taking a couple hours.
By the time we arrived at our location the weather was beautiful. The
skies had cleared and the temp was very pleasant.
We dined at Gabee's which is on the square. It is on
the second floor and looks out over the square. We ate out on the porch.
Service was good and the food was even better. It was great cajun food.
After dinner a few people had to head back home and
the rest walked the square and did a little shopping.
Once again, we had a great ride, good food, and a
great group of people attending.
