Date:  April 15, 2007

This was the ride that never was.

Our regular ride date should have been April 8, but that was Easter Sunday and for obvious reasons we pushed the ride to the next weekend. In doing that we had originally moved the date to Saturday the 14th as an event at Atlanta Motor World. But, that never got planned and we changed it to a ride on Sunday the 15th. Then the weather decided it wasn't really spring yet and the temps dropped into the thirties, the rains came and the winds kicked up. Never being ones to say die, we decided to meet for breakfast and then go see the Wild Hogs movie at a nearby theater.

Thanks to the weather and all the last minute changes the turnout was ...well...not really a turnout. The Turcos, the Kohls, and the Sales arrived at AMW in out warm dry cages. By 10:30 it was pretty obvious we were "it" so we headed down the road with our mini auto caravan to IHOP. Warm food and good company made for a great breakfast. We also had the pleasure of Allen and Shirley's granddaughter to entertain us.

We left the IHOP in time to get to the theaters over by Northpointe. The Sales' crew had to head home, which left just the remaining four of us to see the movie.  At least we didn't have any trouble getting seats together in the theatre.

If you haven't seen Wild Hogs, go see it soon while it is still in the theaters. It is a very entertaining movie. You will laugh. I promise. And, you will be ready for a road trip when it is over. This was the third time I had seen it and I would go again without hesitation. I laughed as hard the last time as I did the first time. This is a DVD I will buy the day it comes out.

After the movie we stopped at a nearby TGI Friday for a drink and a snack before heading home.

We may not have been on bikes, the weather was miserable for April, but I had a great time and really look forward to the next ride. Hopefully the weather will be good, but even if it isn't I will be there, because even without the ride it is still worth the effort to be with good friends.
