A few of us met up for breakfast at Bobby and June's Country Kitchen on 14th Street for a good country style breakfast. Kudos to Mitch Argo and Preston & Stephanie Howard for showing up on motorcycles. The rest of us wussed out and came in our cars. After a delicious meal (and giving the bike riders a chance to warm up) we headed down to the World Congress Center.

There was a lot going on downtown that day and parking was a bit of a challenge, but we finally got parked and hiked to the WCC. (Note: Those who motorcycled-up and rode got to park in a special lot just a stone's throw away from the building).

Once inside we immediately noticed how much more spread out everything was this year. There was a lot more room and more stuff to look at. Even though I liked it being at the Galleria in Cobb, I understood why they moved it. It seemed to me that there was better attendance as well. I guess the more centralized location helped.

The show was the usual vendor hoopla. Lots for lights and sounds, shiny bikes with chrome and bling. There was stuff for the knee draggers and stuff for the cruiser crowd. There was even stuff for the scooter set. All in all, there was a lot to see, whether you were looking for a new bike, or ideas for your exiting one. There was clothing, leathers, jewelry, bike cleaning items, helmets, magazine and maintenance items. There was even a $250,000 motor home. Like any big event, food and drink was overpriced. It was crowded at times. There were nice people and rude people, pretty people and some ugly ones too, young ones and old ones.  If you missed it, you missed a good time.

We did manage to get away long enough for lunch. We went across the street the Jock's & Jill's at the CNN Center where we got to watch Doug sit in a chair on a phone book so he could reach the table....you had to be there....

As always, if you missed the show, you missed a lot. You missed Chuck Pierce riding "bitch" behind Cindy on a Virago 650 (picture below). You missed Maria checking out a Vstar 650  and Teresa on a VMax. You missed seeing some of our cohorts from other local chapters. Guys..you missed the lovely greeters at the doors and the Xgirls.  And, as always, you missed the fellowship of friends. We had a good time. Be there next year !!
