December 22, 2007 With a
ride date so close to Christmas, we gave thought to not doing anything
on this date. December is usually cold and often wet. It was the was
last weekend before the holiday and we knew everyone would have a lot to
do. Anyone else like us, who had procrastinated for the last few weeks,
had a lot of shopping left to do. But, in the end, we decided to just
have a quick get together for anyone who could make it at El Porton,
down the street from the dealership.
Upon arriving I was surprised to see two bikes in the
parking lot. The weather wasn't too bad, it was a little on the cool
side and it was supposed to rain later in the day, but it was rideable
weather. In all there were seven of us who showed up. So, it was a nice
little get together.
Mexican food is always good on a cool day. The salsa
was spicy, and the food warm and filling. We enjoyed a short time
together. We talked, we ate, we laughed, we visited. It was nice.
With much to do, we eventually all headed out. The
guys on the bikes wanted to get home before it got too cold or before
the rain started. And, we all had Christmas preparations to complete.
It was nice to have one more get together before the
holidays and the end of the year.
Remember, Tuesday, January 1 is our Polar Bear ride.
You don't have to be on the bike to participate. Come in the car if
you must, but come. We always have a large turnout and it is a great way
to start off the new year. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
