The weather
could not have been too much better. Temperatures were in the eighties
all day. There was nary a cloud in the sky. A nice breeze keep
everything from becoming too hot.
Ducati was on site doing demo rides of their bikes to kick off
Atlanta Motor World becoming a Ducati dealer. This drew A LOT of people
in to the dealership. About every hour, after they would return from a
demo ride, we would sell a lot of burgers, hot dogs, and drinks.
Atlanta Motor World gave out door prizes about every 15-20 minutes
and ended the day by giving away a nice leather riding jacket. We also
raffled off a helmet and had our 50-50 drawing. All monies of course,
went to Feed the Children.
Several riders took the Trivia Ride challenge and enjoyed a nice ride
through north Fulton and Cherokee counties. The got to see a lot of
beautiful countryside, horse farms that you would never realize was so
close to the city. Eric Noel won 1st place by getting all the answers
correct and getting back 2 minutes sooner than the other riders without
coming in faster than the top secret allotted time. Mitch Argo was 2nd
and Bill Sanders was awarded third.
A few riders entered their rides in the bike show. We had a couple
bikes in the stock class, and some pretty heated competition in the
semi-custom class. We had some very nice bikes entered...everyone was
should have been a winner. The people voted and awards were presented.
Winners are listed below:
Best Stock:
Bill Sanders
Best Semi-Custom: Henry Williams
Best Original Theme: Freddie Arnold
Peoples Choice:
Henry Williams
Dealers Choice:
Eric Noel
After the tents were folded and the trailer packed several of us
headed over to Sonny's for a quick bite and some cold tea.....a lot of
tea. When it was all said and done. We raised $562 for Feed the
Children. A very successful day for our charity.
Finally, we are very grateful to Atlanta Motor World for their
donation and assistance with the Show and Shine. It was largely through
their generosity, cooperation and assistance that we were able to raise
the $562 for Feed the Children. Please make sure you thank them by
visiting their dealership when you need accessories, service or a new
bike.
