January 28, 2006 Atlanta Motor World
was once again our rendezvous point. Meeting time was 11:00 and by
11:30 everyone was there and we were on our way. A cool morning gave way
to a beautiful day. Clear blue skies and the warmth of the sun
made the ride through Woodstock and into Douglasville very enjoyable.
Twelve riders on seven bikes (and 1 car) showed up. The ride wound
through the beautiful countryside of the north Atlanta suburbs before
arriving in downtown Douglasville.
Gumbeaux's is a local cajun/creole restaurant known
all over Atlanta for its authentic cuisine. Not too much talking was
done once the food arrived. Everyone was too busy eating and enjoying
the excellent food. As one rider from New Orleans said "the best New
Orleans cooking outside of New Orleans I have had". Well worth the trip.
For the second ride in a row, the
weather was so good we just had to do a little more riding, so to get
home, we meandered up through Carterville and across north Georgia using
Hwy 20 to get us back to the Cumming area before we once again split up and headed our separate ways home.
Those who missed this ride, missed a great ride, great
weather, fantastic food, and most importantly good friends.
Be sure to be there next time.....you don't want to
miss out.....
