September 10, 2006 With fall just around the corner
the riding weather is almost perfect. Leaving early, the weather was cool, but
not too cool for a t-shirt. The day warmed as it progressed but never really got
hot. Eleven bikes/fifteen riders showed up for a beautiful
ride through the Georgia mountains to Cherry Log, GA and the
Pink Pig Barbeque. Cherry Log is up around Ellijay in the north
Georgia mountain. We took advantage of that an hit as many curvy twisty
roads as we could in the time we had. It was a very enjoyable ride. The
scenery is always beautiful.
We eventually ended up at the Pink Pig, a favorite of President Jimmy
Carter. The food was very good. If we don't do anything else well on our
rides, we manage to fine really good food.
After our meal we talked and laughed a little then got back on the
bikes for the ride home. This meant more great roads and gorgeous
scenery.
A good time was had by all. There is just nothing better than riding
and eating with friends.
As always....Those who missed this ride, missed a great ride, great
weather, fantastic food, and most importantly good friends.
Be sure to be there next time.....you never know what
you might miss.....
