Well when we left the house this morning the temperature was
36 degrees. I will admit the fingers got a little cold on the
way to Atlanta Motor World. We were greeted there with fresh
coffee and donuts by Jenni at the shop. We had four riders from
the Atlanta chapter that braved the cold for the ride to Madison
to eat at the Chop House. Teresa and I had been joined by Mitch
& Steve Argo. On the way we picked up an additional four riders
from the Stone Mountain chapter that wanted to make the ride to
Madison. The food at the Chop House was good along with the
friendship shared while we ate.
After lunch we strolled along the sidewalks of Madison window
shopping and checking out the sites. Madison is a great old town
with a lot of history. Then we saddled up and headed out for the
rest of our ride down through Covington and back up toward home.
A special thanks to Mitch Argo for planning, pre-ridding and
leading a great ride today despite the cool temperatures.
We have a lot of great things coming up for this riding
season. Next for those who want to attend, we are riding down to
Macon on Saturday, April 1st to drum up support for the
Andersonville event we will host there at Capitol Cycles.
Capitol Cycles is having a cruiser event on Saturday and we have
been invited to attend. This is like an open house with door
prizes and a lunch at the dealership. We plan to ride down and
promote our event. If you would like to ride along let me know.
Our next ride will be on Sunday, April 9th. We are planning a
ride to Jackson to eat at Fresh Air BBQ.
We have a Trivia Ride and Show & Shine at Atlanta Motor World
on April 15th. Ducati will have their trailer there and there
will be Ducati demo bikes there to ride. This should create a
lot of traffic through the dealership and help us raise lots of
money for Feed The Children.
April 22 is the Ride to the Stars in Birmingham at Barber
Motorsports. Some of us are planning to make this an overnight
ride. If you would like to do the overnight ride use your Choice
Hotels card and make your reservations at the Comfort Inn
Airport for Saturday night. There are already members from Stone
Mountain and other chapters planning on attending. Room rates are
$79.99 + tax for the night.
We also are planning a ride to Dillsboro to ride the Great
Smokey Mountain Railroad and to do a dinner ride on the train.
This will be an overnight ride and should be a great time. One
of the other rides we are planning will be a ride to the new
Georgia Aquarium. Both of these rides will require advanced
reservations so please let me know if you plan to attend. We
will get the dates posted soon. Our schedule is about finished.
Let's not forget the 3rd Annual Andersonville/Memorial Day
Event in Macon. Get your reservations in so we can get the
t-shirts ordered and things scheduled. We will be staying at the
Holiday Inn Macon West like we did last year. We have Saturday
events scheduled at the dealership. There will be a Trivia Ride
in the morning, lunch provided by the dealership and a Show and
Shine after lunch. And who knows, we might even ride over to the
lake and eat seafood at the restaurant again. That was a great
time last year. Sunday will be the ride to Americus to eat at
the Ryan's for an early lunch and then on to Andersonville for
the events at the park.
We are looking forward to a great riding season and hope to
see all of you out in the sunshine.
