A NEW MONTHLY FEATURE,
HIGHLIGHTING THE MEMBERS AND ACTIVITIES OF ATLANTA STAR TOURING
& RIDING, CHAPTER 111!
As we begin yet another year of riding,
some things have changed within Chapter 111 while many have
remained the same. We have a new President and Vice President (Doug
and I just switched roles), a new group of officers, a new
and exciting web site and a renewed spirit to explore the open
road “in the wind”
With the dawning of 2006, we begin again
by sharing the New Year with our extended family and doing what
we all enjoy…getting together and riding! Within each of us,
burns bright a need to get out and roll down the highway. There
is a definite feeling of freedom we all experience when we
saddle up and twist the throttle.
2006 will be year to re-invent the
original Star Chapter in Georgia. We have seen a change in
leadership as Doug Turco assumes a more active role as the
Georgia State Director. We have seen two of our own, Rick and
Barbara Campbell, branch out and form a new chapter in
Cartersville and we are rejoined by the founding President of
the Stone Mountain Chapter, Steve Argo and his wife Kay and they
have graciously offered to Shepard our club this year.
(Mitch is coming as well!)
Preston And Stephanie Howard are back as
our Star Vet representatives and look again to lead us in
honoring our men and women in uniform. Dave Hughes has returned
as the Srg-At-Arms, a necessary job considering the rowdy bunch
we are and our own LEGAL ALIEN, Allen Sales, has re-entered the
atmosphere to continue his role as Secretary, no he cannot sit
on my lap! Gary Kohl has taken on the role of Web Master and
has done an outstanding job revamping our site and his wife,
Maria, has taken on the role of our much-needed LOS
representative and Gary II is working on yet another calendar
bike! Teresa Turco, will remain as our Treasurer, den mother
and resident sleeping beauty! (She can sleep anywhere!)
And finally, our own Charter Member, Ray Rutledge (Harley Ray)
will once again bring up the rear as our Tail Gunner! What
happens if he breaks down? OOPS!
In the coming months, I envision this
space to be highlighted with events and happenings within our
chapter. I encourage each of you to forward ideas, stories,
personal and group experiences that we can post and share with
one another!
So ride safe…ride often…and RIDE
WITH CHAPTER 111!
See you… “IN THE WIND…”
